Itinerary
Day 01 :
Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Highlights:
- Scenic road trip or optional domestic flight
- Equator stopover
- Cultural and countryside experience
Itinerary:
- Depart early from Kampala or Entebbe (around 7:00 AM) for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (approx. 8–10 hours by road).
- En route, stop at the Equator for photos and a brief presentation.
- Continue through the rolling hills of western Uganda, passing banana plantations and local markets.
- Lunch en route (in Mbarara or Kabale).
- Arrive at your lodge in or near Bwindi in the late afternoon or early evening.
- Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 02 :
Gorilla Trekking Adventure
Highlights:
- Lifetime encounter with endangered mountain gorillas
- Guided trek through the rainforest
Itinerary:
- Early breakfast at the lodge.
- Transfer to the park headquarters by 7:30 AM for briefing and allocation of gorilla groups.
- Begin the trek into the dense forest with experienced Uganda Wildlife Authority guides and rangers.
- Trek duration: 2–6+ hours depending on the location of the gorilla family.
- Spend up to 1 hour with the gorillas once found – observing, taking photos (no flash), and enjoying their behavior.
- After the trek, return to the lodge for a hot meal and some relaxation.
- Optional cultural village walk or visit to local community projects (Batwa pygmies, craft markets).
- Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Important Tips:
- Wear sturdy hiking boots, long pants, and sleeves.
- Bring a rain jacket, water, snacks, and gloves.
- Hiring a local porter is highly recommended.
Day 03 :
Return to Kampala / Entebbe or Fly Out
Highlights:
- Scenic return journey or optional charter flight
- Opportunity to stop at souvenir shops
Itinerary:
- After breakfast, begin your drive back to Kampala or Entebbe.
- Stop for lunch en route and another Equator photo opportunity if missed on Day 1.
- Arrive in the evening (depending on road traffic and starting point).
- Optional drop-off at Entebbe Airport for your departure flight or overnight stay in Kampala/Entebbe.
Optional:
- Domestic flight from Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip to Entebbe (~1 hour) for faster transfer.
